Would you like to become a Kia ora Kids at home educator?
Our educators are self-employed and contract to Kia ora Kids at Home Childcare. Educators can work hours that suit them and their family, having the opportunity to be at home with their own children.
Educators work from their home caring for a maximum of four children under the age of five and two children under the age of two, including their own children.
Our educators are supported by visiting teachers who are experienced, fully qualified and registered.
Kia ora kids provides ongoing professional development, and there are opportunities available for educators to gain their level 4 early childhood certificate.
All our educators and visiting teachers hold a first aid certificate.
Educators have current police clearance (including any persons living in their home over seventeen years).
Educators have medical clearance from their GP.
Te Whãriki ,The New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum is our guiding document for early childhood care and education.
Educators record children’s learning and development through learning stories and individual portfolios.
Educators and their children attend weekly playgroups. This provides opportunities to meet other educators, share ideas, and provide a larger group experience for children.
All educators are provided with Kia ora Kids at home childcare policies and procedures, guided by the Ministry of Education.
